Job Description

Security Control Center Operator

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Description: 

Provides a lawful security response to deter wrongful acts at Company facilities and ensure a secure environment for employees and visitors. While on duty, carry out post orders and monitor electronic security and alarm systems.

Level of Responsibility:
Responsibilities are varied and complex. May work outside area of assigned duties. Expert in own area of responsibility. Works independently. Resolves complex problems within area of responsibility. Identifies opportunities and innovative solutions. Recommends changes in procedures. Reviews progress and evaluates results. Authority to make decisions related to job responsibilities.

Essential Functions:
  • Serve as the central point of contact of the company and members for any security, safety concerns and questions.
  • Daily monitoring of computerized alarms for; audible and video surveillance, intrusion detection, physical access control systems.
  • Contacts or dispatches the appropriate entity.
  • Evaluates complex issues on a regular basis and responds appropriately.
  • Responsible for submitting all DOE 417's to ESISAC and DOE (Department of Energy).
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement.
  • Responsible for Security Alerts company wide.
  • Responsible for Executive Call List (ECL) initiation and coordination.
  • Process daily card provisioning and trouble shooting.
  • Responsible for coordinating security investigations; dispatch investigators, respond to reports of theft, fraud, and other incidents, issues case numbers and keep logs for cases assigned.
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining and implementing clearance codes for ProWatch application.
  • Monitor NERC CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) sites.
  • Responsible for safety alerts company wide.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
  • Work is performed primarily in a command center environment with extensive use of computers and monitors.
  • May be required to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
  • May be required to work non-standard work schedules which may include on-call and call-outs.
  • Must be available to respond to call-in duty when requested.
  • Ability to successfully complete all mandated training, such as Commissioned Full Time Peace Officer.
  • May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
  • Must comply with Company Security Officer dress requirements and grooming standards.
  • Must have or obtain all required certifications.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a physical exam; especially sight and hearing tests.

Special Safety Requirements:
  • All positions in which driving is an essential function of the job, regardless if the job code is marked safety sensitive or not, will also be included as safety sensitive. Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of computer based programs such as ProWatch, Rapid Eye, Lobby Works weather applications and Microsoft Office; very strong computer skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize numerous tasks during shift.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of interpretation of regulatory issues and ability to document procedures, standards, policies and plans.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NERC regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex regulatory requirements in an easily understandable way.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information and material with the highest degree of professional responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge with card access ad visitor management systems.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Very strong problem solving skills.

Education/Work Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED and 6 years directly related experience.
  • Previous Security Operations Center (SOC) or Security Control Center (SCC) experience.
  • Completion of required minimum 40 hours of training.
  • Experience with computer based programs used in SOC/SCC operations.
  • Experience with card access and visitor management systems.
  • Experience with Physical Access Control systems, to include provisioning and deprovisioning card access.

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Valid state driver’s license.
