Purchasing Agent

Location: Tulsa, OK

Description: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing, particularly in the procurement of pipe, valves, flanges, and instrumentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and QuickBooks is essential for this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the procurement process for pipe, valves, flanges, and instruments from requisition to delivery.
  • Identify reliable suppliers and maintain strong relationships with them.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchases.
  • Create and process purchase orders accurately and timely.
  • Monitor and track order status to ensure timely delivery.
  • Resolve supplier issues and discrepancies to maintain smooth operations.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and specifications.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback to optimize supplier base.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and lead times.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions affecting purchasing.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Specialist or similar role, preferably in the procurement of pipe, valves, flanges, and instruments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and QuickBooks.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in procurement processes.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
