Description:
The Pipelines Quantity Surveyor reports to the Project Controls Manager- Infrastructure and may be responsible for:
- Preparing a quantity tracking system that incorporates all the different pipeline scopes (pipelines, vertical support members, Horizontal support members, saddles etc.) by location and quantity. The system could be a progress book that will be worked with the Pipeline Construction Engineer for each year.
- Daily Contractor monitoring for construction installation and compile data (quantity installed) including vertical support members, Horizontal support members, Saddles, TVA’s, Pipe installed, Power and fiberoptic and others.
- Review contractor’s progress submittal
- Communicate and work closely with theConstruction Team and the Pipeline Construction Engineer.
- Review the Pipeline Contractor’s reported physical progress.
- Assist in verifying contractor’s invoices or parts of the invoices that are based on contractor’s achieved physical progress.
- Communicating to the Project Controls Manager-Infrastructure and the construction team any scope, schedule, or cost risks/opportunities in a timely manner.
- Communicating to the Project Controls Manager-Infrastructure variances from the approved Standards and Policies.
- Being a leader in HSE performance by communicating, fostering, supporting, and enforcing the HSE policies, procedures, guidelines, requirements, and objectives.
Basic/Required Qualifications
- Current/valid driver’s license
- Bachelors’ Degree and/or equivalent experience
- Proven management and staff leadership skills
- 7+ years of field experience on major capital projects in construction/Oil Industry Projects, Refinery or Petrochemical environments in assignments of increasing responsibility, complexity and scale.
- 5+ years of Pipeline quantity surveying
- Willing and able to work on a temporary assignment in Anchorage during the off-season (if required)
- High technical competency in the field of quantity surveying.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Project Management or Engineering, or 7+ years of field experience
- Certification(s) in the project management discipline from a recognized organization (Primavera, PMI, AACE etc.).
- Demonstrated interpersonal and teambuilding skills.
- Demonstrated communication skills to influence contractors to implement the Project Management Procedures.
- Knowledge of proprietary computer software systems used for project management, tracking, controlling, and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability for development of reports for and presentations to management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines and across organizational boundaries.
- Listens actively and invites dialogue for shared understanding, then influences and acts to drive performance and achieve results.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and meet deadlines.
